What happened to the UVM online patient portal?

This system was renamed and upgraded in November 2019, as part of a UVM Health Network-wide transition to a more connected, safe, secure and convenient online health experience for all patients. This upgrade occured at all UVM Medical Center practices and locations, with the exception of Dialysis.

What are patient portals?

Porter Medical Center’s Patient Portals are online tools that help you to manage your healthcare easily and securely, allowing you to view your personal health record whenever and where ever you have access to the intranet. Porter has two separate patient portals that you can access, depending on the service you are using:

How do I sign up for the Porter Hospital portal?

The FIRST STEP is to sign up for the Portal at your local provider office or Porter Hospital. (Due to HIPAA requirements, you must sign up in person) Once the Portal is activated, you will log on using the the “Hospital Portal” link above. Then, simply enter your user name and password.

How do I pay a porter physician Bill online?

A Porter Physician bill dated on or before November 8, 2019 or a Hospital bill with any date, you can pay it online: https://PatientPortal.PorterMedical.org NOTE: You will be able to pay Hospital bills in MyChart in November 2021. The FIRST STEP is to sign up for the Portal at your local provider office or Porter Hospital.

How long will I have access to the information in my current online patient portal?

Central Vermont Medical Center patients will still be able to access the current portal (eClinical Works), but no new health information will be added after November 8, 2019.

What information will I see in MyChart on November 9?

Patients at the UVM Medical Center will continue to see all of their information in MyHealth Online. The portal is only being renamed MyChart.

Will anything change regarding how I view or pay my bills?

At the UVM Medical Center, patients with MyChart who have appointments on or after November 9, may pay their co-pays and bills within MyChart. For visits prior to November 9, patients will use the QuickPay feature.

What if I have a portal account at a hospital impacted by this transition?

Prior to November 9, patients at UVM Medical Center, Central Vermont Medical Center and Porter Medical Center, who have existing portal accounts will receive detailed information via email about new features and what to expect when the system is being updated, including any system downtime.
