For any concerns about the Radiology Department, please contact Angie Bush, MSRS, CRA, RT (R) (CT) (MR), FAHRA at (409) 772-2433 or email apbush@utmb.edu. This modality is comprised of radiological exams such as Chest and Abdomen x-rays, extremity x-rays and select iodinated contrast exams.

What is my Patient Portal?

What is a radiology tech?

Radiologic technologists are the healthcare professionals that perform certain diagnostic exams independently or assist radiologists in the performance of invasive procedures. Radiologic technologists are the third largest category of healthcare professionals and are essential to providing quality patient care.

What magnets are used in MRI?

Most magnets used in MRI are .6 to 1.5 Tesla, thus with our 3Tesla MRI units, the radiologists will have better, clearer pictures to diagnose patients. This equipment is ACR (American College of Radiology) certified, and must pass vigorous quality standards in order to achieve this certification.

Is UTMB a radiology center?

It is also recognized as a Center of Excellence for Breast Imaging.

What is PET scan?

PET/CT scans are performed to pinpoint area of the body that have abnormal metabolic activity. This equipment is ACR (American College of Radiology) certified, and must pass vigorous quality standards in order to achieve this certification.

Can medical records be released without consent?

Medical Records. All patient health care information at UTMB is confidential. Therefore, medical records cannot be released to any person or organization without the consent of the patient or the patient's legally authorized representative (unless authorized by law). Written Authorization.

In-person Request (Films &/or Medical Records/Reports): To obtain your images on a CD and/or a complete copy of all of your records (including registration forms, referrals, billing statements, etc.), visit our medical records department, Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Please make sure you have the below applicable documentation with you.
