How to access your patient portal?

Appointments Schedule an appointment by accessing the SHCP patient portal on the myBama student page or calling 205-348-6262. The SHCP does both Telemedicine and in-person office visits for students. Clinic Services The SHCP has opened the web appointments for telemedicine.

What are the benefits of a patient portal?

Patient Portal If you are having a medical emergency, call Emergency Medical Services (911) or call your nearest hospital or medical practice. Email and appointment requests made through the patient portal will be answered within one business day. You may call our after-hours answering service at (205) 348-1770 if you require urgent assistance.

Student, faculty and staff can receive their free flu shot during their well visit, or by attending one of the clinics around campus. Click here for more information.

Clinic Services

The SHCP has opened the web appointments for telemedicine. Students must call 205-348-2778 or 205-348-0386 to request visits for services related to women's health, nutrition, psychiatry, dermatology and allergy.

What is counseling staff?

The counseling staff offers individual, group and crisis intervention counseling. Counselors, all with graduate-level training, assist with a variety of personal and interpersonal issues. Students should call to schedule appointments. Students in emergency situations are usually seen the same day.

What is the medical staff?

The medical staff provides primary health care and referrals for specialty medical services when appropriate. General office visits for preventive care, illness and injury are provided at no charge. Medications, laboratory services, medical supplies and some physical examinations are provided at reduced cost.

First Time Visits

For all first time visits to the Student Health Center, please complete the New Patient Form.

Students Seeking Care

For students seeking care, and have had previous appointments in the semester, please complete the All Visit Form. It is important to understand the All Visit forms must be sent in for every visit.

Submitting Forms

Once you have completed the forms, please log into your MyBama page, and under the student tab look for the Student Health Center and Pharmacy section to the right. Click on “access your patient portal”, then choose messages + medical records + team and add an attachment to upload those forms directly to the health center.
