A child's oral health should not be put at risk due to economic, temporal, cultural, or geographical barriers. In order to minimize these barriers, the Dental Clinic has developed a mobile dental clinic program.
TOMAGWA HealthCare Ministries is a full-time, comprehensive family practice center serving low-resource, uninsured families, and individuals offering access to early intervention for potentially fatal conditions and proper care for chronic illness and other non-emergency care.
TOMAGWA's medical clinics, led by Medical Director Dr. Linda Flower, are a medical home to most of its patients providing a wide range of non-emergency medical care. In 2018, our family medicine practitioners met the needs of the community through over 22,500 patient visits.
In 2013, TOMAGWA partnered with the Tomball Regional Health Foundation to open a full service dental clinic. The clinic houses four dental chairs and an x-ray room with the capacity to treat 2,600 patients a year. The Tomball Regional Health Foundations continues to support the clinic providing majority of operational costs.
The mobile dental clinic serves the most economically disadvantaged elementary schools, in the area, with support from school administration. Children can expect to receive dental services including: an oral examination, a fluoride varnish application, and oral hygiene education as well as an oral health goody bag.
