What is primary care provider?

Your primary care provider plays an important role in coordinating your health care management of acute and chronic problems, preventive care, obstetrical care and referring you to a specialist when needed. At Merrimack Family Medicine, our family physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are dedicated to providing each patient with the highest quality medical care and healthcare services. We provide comprehensive primary medical care, health services and information to all patients. Our services include obstetrics, pediatrics, and adult medicine.

When will patients be brought into the exam room?

All patients will be brought into an exam room immediately after check-in. If there is a small wait, our waiting area has been set up so that social distancing is achieved.

What is telemedicine screening?

A rigorous screening and triage process to ensure patients who are experiencing COVID symptoms or who have been exposed to COVID are not coming into the office. These patients will be offered TeleMedicine visits and other options for their needs.

How many parents can accompany a child to an in-office visit?

In-office pediatric patients will be allowed one parent or guardian to accompany them to their visit.

Is a primary care physician considered a group practice?

It is important for our patients to know that we are an integrated group practice. Although one physician is designated as your primary care physician, we would like you to feel comfortable with our team of providers. If your primary care physician is not in the office on a day when you need to be seen, we can schedule an appointment for you with another provider in the practice.
