How do I get an at-home Test in Iowa?

To order sequencing, go to SHL’s website and select the “Coronavirus (COVID-19) Sequencing" Test Request Form. Patients must work with their healthcare provider. WGS Results. SHL is only authorized to report sequencing results to the Iowa Department of Public Health for public health surveillance purposes.

How do I get my test kit from Iowa State Hygienic?

Test Iowa patients will receive their test results from the Test Iowa program. If you already have an SHL Web Portal account and cannot login or have already applied for an account and have not received your account information, please call 319/335-4358 or email SHL-WebPortalSupport@uiowa.edu. Do not complete a new web portal application.

Can you order a serology test in Iowa?

Serology tests may only be ordered by a healthcare provider. On February 9, 2021, the Iowa Department of Public Health eliminated testing criteria for SARS-CoV-2 at the State Hygienic Laboratory. SHL will accept any serology test for COVID-19 infection ordered by a healthcare provider with no restrictions.

What is SHL courier service?

SHL utilizes Central Delivery Service of Iowa for courier service. If you are a current CDS client, go to the CDS webpage to arrange a pick-up. If you are not a current CDS client, call SHL at 1-855-374-4692 for assistance.

OpenELIS

The Open Enterprise Laboratory Information System (OpenELIS) web portal contains environmental, safe drinking water, clinical, rabies, and maternal screen test results.

Neonatal Screening

The Neonatal Metabolic Screening Program web portal contains newborn screening test results.
