Is the patient portal part of my permanent medical record?

The online 'Patient Portal,' makes it easier for you to complete forms and send secure messages. The Patient Portal and Secure Messages should be used for non-urgent medical questions, lab results, routine follow-up questions, etc. DO NOT use the secure messaging to communicate an emergency, an urgent issue or to request an appointment.
