Often, an imaging device called a “coil” will be placed around the area of the body to be scanned. The coil acts like an antenna to help capture high quality images of your body.
Contrast will be administered through an IV placed in your hand or arm before your exam. When your scan is complete, you’ll be escorted back to the changing room so you can change out of the scrubs and back into your clothing. Once you have changed, your appointment is complete.
It helps a doctor to view the inside of the body without having to make an incision. X-rays help’s doctors diagnose, monitor, and treat many medical conditions. An x – ray (radiograph) is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.
A computed tomography (CT) scan uses X-rays to make detailed pictures of structures inside of the body. A CT scan can be used to study all parts of your body, such as the chest, belly, pelvis, or an arm or leg. It can take pictures of body organs, such as the liver, pancreas, intestines, kidneys, bladder, adrenal glands, lungs, and heart.
The CT scanner sends X-rays through the body area being studied. Each rotation of the scanner takes less than a second and provides a picture of a thin slice of the organ or area. All of the pictures are saved as a group on a computer. They also can be printed.
An ultrasonic level or sensing system requires no contact with the target. For many processes in the medical, pharmaceutical, military and general industries this is an advantage over inline sensors that may contaminate the liquids inside a vessel or tube or that may be clogged by the product.
An iodine dye (contrast material) is often used to make structures and organs easier to see on the CT pictures. The dye may be used to check blood flow, find tumors, and look for other problems. The dye can be used in different ways. It may be put in a vein (IV) in your arm, or it may be placed into other parts of your body ...
A 3 Tesla MRI has twice the magnetic strength of a typical 1.5 Tesla “High Field” MRI machine, or 4 to 15 times the strength of a typical “Open MRI” 0.7T or 0.2T machine. It offers clearer images with greater anatomical details of your body parts (eg. old Box TVs versus new Flatscreen TVs). 3 Tesla MRI scans are usually completed in half the time taken by most 1.5T machines with old software options.
Abdomen: A CT scan of the abdomen can find cysts, abscesses, infection, tumors, an aneurysm, enlarged lymph nodes, foreign objects, bleeding in the belly, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and appendicitis. Urinary tract: A CT scan of the kidneys, ureters, and bladder is called a CT KUB or CT urogram.
