Will I be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to work or study on campus this fall?

Yes. In light of the campus living environment and educational mission, a vaccination requirement offers the best protection against transmission in the campus community. Students, faculty, and staff must complete a COVID-19 vaccination series by August 16, 2021. This means:

We have continued to review the latest guidance and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), and American College Health Association (ACHA) related to institutes of higher education, which all support vaccination as the best way to protect against COVID-19.

Per the CDC, COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. Millions of people in the United States have received COVID-19 vaccines under the most intense safety monitoring in U.S. history.

What about visitors to campus? Are unvaccinated guests permitted on campus?

The University welcomes visitors to campus for a variety of reasons, including for events and programs. We will continue to follow our current guidelines. If vaccinated, no social distancing or mask is required. If not vaccinated, visitors are required to wear a mask.

Do I still need to be vaccinated if my program or teaching position is fully online and I do not come to campus?

Students enrolled in a fully online program from matriculation to graduation* who do not need to come to campus may seek an exemption from the University's COVID-19 vaccination requirement.

I already reported my vaccination to the University. Do I have to do anything else?

If you have already recorded the dates of your first and second vaccination and uploaded a copy of your vaccination card into the patient portal, you have met all the necessary requirements.
