What is a primary medical provider?from spektrum.health

Our primary medical provider is a Nurse Practitioner (NP). What does this mean for you as a patient? NPs can diagnose medical conditions, order and interpret diagnostics testing and laboratory values, develop treatment plans, prescribe all medications, and determine successful goals and outcomes. NPs function very similar to what “medical doctors” do, but they are trained how to address health problems and promote wellness using the nursing model.

Where is Anthony from Spektrum?from spektrum.health

He is a community ally and has worked with LGBTQA+ people throughout his career. He currently resides in South Florida but works with SPEKTRUM Health providing virtual (tele-health) consultations, evaluations and nutritional therapy.

Does Spectrum have LGBTQ programs?from spectrumlgbtcenter.org

Spectrum’s programs for LGBTQ youth and older adults will continue and MAP will also continue its full array of programs and services as the organizations work in collaboration to support and enhance each other.

Who is Joey from Spektrum?from spektrum.health

Joey (he/him) is the founder and president of SPEKTRUM Health. He has a wealth of experience working in a variety of healthcare practice settings. He has over 16 years of nursing experience and has practiced as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for more than 5 years. He has formal training and experience in health policy and health law. He serves on the executive board for the Florida Association of Nurse Practitioners (FLANP) as well as the Central Florida Advance Practice Nursing Counsel (CFANPC). Clinically he specializes in LGBT healthcare with a special focus on HIV treatment and prevention, STD treatment and prevention and medical care for transgender individuals. For fun he enjoys the sun and water. He is an active member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). He is also trained and holds certificates from the Mazonni Center in Philadelphia, PA for Transgender Wellness. He spends as many of his days off as possible beaching and boating! Though he does not have any human children he is happy to have a four legged daughter named Kimber.

You can make an appointment by phoning the clinic at 604-681-1080 or through online booking using the Spectrum Health Patient Portal. You may use online booking to schedule appointments with our nurses, nurse practitioner and your own physician.

The Patient Portal is an online service for booking appointments, viewing lab results and receiving messages from the clinic or your doctor. After setting up a secure account you are able to log in to view any lab results, your doctor may also share with you other results via the Portal including x-ray reports or specialist consultations. You may book online appointments with the nurses, nurse practitioner and your physician through the Portal.

If you have a health concern arise on an evening or weekend when the clinic is closed and need advice before the clinic reopens, we have a 24-hour urgent care number that will connect you directly to the Spectrum doctor on-call (778-838-6500). If it is an emergency situation please call 911.

Is Spectrum Health a walk in clinic?from spectrum-health.net

All appointments at Spectrum Health are booked/scheduled. There are no walk-in appointments available, with the exception of our scheduled flu-shot clinic in the fall. If you need to be seen same day, please call our front desk staff who will do their best to fit you in with either your doctor, the covering doctor (‘doctor of the day’) if your doctor is away, a nurse or our nurse practitioner.

Is Spectrum Health covered by MSP?from spectrum-health.net

Do you have to make a refill appointment with your doctor?from spectrum-health.net

Refills for these medications must be made in person with your doctor as a reassessment of your pain and function is required on a regular basis (unless these medications are prescribed in the context of palliative care or cancer management). If you have any questions relating to changes in your medications or the new clinic policies please book an appointment to speak with your doctor.
