Our Sunday night program starts at 6:30 p.m. with the sound of the bell, followed by a welcome and announcements. A silent meditation – brief instruction is often included – lasts 30 to 40 minutes, and then a break allows time for browsing at the info tables, meeting people, etc.

Practice talks, often by a panel, give us the chance to hear from fellow SBMG members about how they are finding their way with meditation and daily life practice. Lively questions and answer periods allow for mutual learning.

Classes for new and seasoned practitioners are provided throughout the year. In addition to a free monthly Introduction to Meditation held from 6 – 6:45pm on the last Sunday of each month, teachers also present two more in-depth class series on Introduction to Meditation each year.
Local daylong retreats are led by teachers each month for learning and meditation practice, often including mindful movement. Residential retreats with two teachers at a beautiful center near Sacramento provide four days or more of in-depth practice, supporting our commitment to live together in community.
