What is Saline Health System's priority?

At Saline Health System, our top priority is safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our patients, providers, employees and community. We continue to closely monitor the prevalence of coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community and follow state and federal guidance as we adapt our operations to safely care for and support our patients. Our visitor policy as of 1/21/2021 is the following:

How old do you have to be to go to the emergency department?

Emergency Department: One WELL visitor, ages 16 or older per patient, will be allowed in the emergency department. The visitor must be the same person during the entire ED stay. Visitors are to remain in patient rooms at all times. If the visitor leaves the facility, there will be no same day readmittance.

What time does the emergency department open?

Please bring a mask with you when you come. All visitors and employees must enter through the Main Entrance or Emergency Department. Main Entrance hours are 8AM-8PM. Emergency Department entrance is open 24/7.

How old is a well visitor?

One WELL visitor, ages 16 or older per patient, from 4PM - 8PM.

Can a visitor leave the same day?

The visitor must stay in the patient room while visiting and may not leave unless determined necessary by the care team. If the visitor leaves the facility, there will be no same day readmittance. The visitor must be the same person the entire day.

Is there a same day readmittance for a visitor who leaves the facility?

If the visitor leaves the facility, there will be no same day readmittance.

Can you visit a hospital for outpatient surgery?

No visitors are allowed for outpatient procedures, diagnostics, testing, or surgical procedures. No change from current practice.

What is an eligible patient?

Eligible Patients – Patients receiving eligible services, who submit a complete application for financial assistance form and are approved by Saline Memorial Hospital. Patients may also become eligible for financial assistance based on medical indigence, medical hardship, or presumptive eligibility. These additional eligibility methods are documented in the full Financial Assistance/Charity Policy.

How is financial assistance determined?

Determination of Financial Assistance Eligibility – Eligibility for financial assistance will be determined by using the United States Department of Health and Human Services Federal Poverty Levels (FPL) published at http://aspe.hhs.gov. Discounted care is based on a sliding scale to eligible applicants whose annual household income falls between 120% and 400% of FPL.

Is Saline Health System eligible for financial assistance?

Eligible Services – Medically necessary and/or emergent healthcare services provided and billed by Saline Health System and Saline Physician Services are eligible for financial assistance. Other services which are separately billed by other providers, such as physicians or laboratories, are not eligible for financial assistance under this policy. Elective cosmetic procedures are also not eligible for financial assistance under this policy.
