How do I make an appointment with Raleigh Neurology Associates?

What is the weight limit for MRI scan?

Our weight limit is 550 lbs. at all MRI locations. Does my head have to go in the scanner? If the body part being evaluated or imaged must be in the center of the scanner, therefore most upper body exams will require you to go in the machine head first.

Patient Portal Information

At the time of your first visit in our office, we will collect your email address to have you sign up to be a member of our patient portal. You may decline this option if desired, but if at any time you would like to join the portal, simply email us at telehealth@raleighneurology.com for an invitation.

How To Change Your Email in the Patient Portal

Should you ever need to change your email address once logged into the portal, click “Account” in the top right of the window. Select “Edit” to the right of your name, then choose “Security” and click “Change” to the right of your email address, as shown in the image below.

Once results have been analyzed, you will meet with a provider on your care team for a comprehensive review. We’ll tailor a treatment plan to determine the next steps to best serve you.

Your complete neurological examination may include lab work and testing such as MRI ’s, EEG’s, or nerve conduction studies.

What is MRI test?

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive medical test that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio waves to create images of the body’s internal organs and structures. The resulting images reveal details that are invisible or hard to see when using other imaging methods, such as x-rays, ultrasound exams or CT scans.

Why do you contrast a radiologist?

Contrast may enhance the images and gives the radiologist more detailed information about your exam.

Where is the technologist in the scanner?

The technologist will be just outside the scanner door at the opening console. The technologist will also be in visual contact with you through the glass during your exam.

Is radiation harmful to MRI?

Physicians often rely on these MRI images in order to properly diagnose a variety of injuries, conditions and diseases. Note: Radiation is not involved in an MRI exam. There are no known harmful side effects from the magnetic field or radio wave exposure associated with an MRI exam.

Referrals

In some cases, insurance carriers require a referral from a physician. We work closely with all of our primary care offices that can make a direct referral to Raleigh Neurology on your behalf. Once the referral is received, our team will contact you to schedule the appointment and start the journey.

Request My Records

We are happy to assist you. In order to accept and process your request, we need a signed medical release form.

Help with External Forms

There are times when you may have an external form (examples include DMV, FLMA, etc.) that you need completed by a provider. We have a variety of ways you can provide these to RNA so we can coordinate completing them for you. From the time the form is received at our office, there is a 2-4 week turnaround for completion.

We are dedicated to providing the highest level of quality care for all our patients. It is very important to us that every patient has a good experience.

How many prescription plans are there in North Carolina?

There are over 50 different Prescription plans available to North Carolina residents.

Do neurologists accept workman's compensation?

We do not accept any Workman’s Compensation or motor vehicle accident cases in our neurology clinics.

Does Raleigh Neurology accept Medicare?

Raleigh Neurology Associates, P.A., is a Medicare provider and accepts most major insurance plans. The list below indicates the carriers that Raleigh Neurology is contracted with to provide medical service for patients. In order to assure that Raleigh Neurology can provide service, we require current insurance information before the time of service. Please note, just because Raleigh Neurology is contracted with an insurance carrier does not guarantee that Raleigh Neurology is in network with the patient’s specific plan, even if it is provided by one of our contracted carriers. The patient must be responsible for knowing their benefits and whether or not Raleigh Neurology is in network for their plan. We ask that patients please call the number on the back of their insurance card to verify coverage or the requirement for a referral.

Mask or Face Coverings

Anyone over the age of 2 years presenting to our offices is REQUIRED to bring a mask or face covering with them and keep it on for the duration of the visit. If you are unable or do not wish to wear a mask, we certainly respect your wishes but due to an abundance of caution, we will have to reschedule your appointment.

Appointments

All our locations are currently open from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday . Certain departments such as MRI, the Sleep Labs, and our Pain clinic may be accepting patients outside of these hours.
