What is MyChart?

MyChart is a secure online portal that allows you to access your electronic medical record and send messages to your doctor directly without going to the clinic or picking up the phone. You can also:

It’s important for parents and teens to understand patient rights when it comes to accessing information on MyChart.

How do I sign up for the Patient Portal?

Start by providing your email address to the registration clerk, or visit our Health Information Management Department (HIM). To protect your privacy, our staff will need to see your photo ID.

After activation, you can begin accessing your Patient Portal by visiting www.providencekc.com, clicking on the patient portal link, and then logging in with your username and password.

How old do you have to be to have a patient portal?

Any person age 13 and older with an active email address can have a patient portal. If you are the parent or legal guardian of a child under age 13, their account must be initiated by you. (See “What is proxy access?” below.)

What is proxy access?

Using the patient portal to view another patient’s information is called proxy access. As a parent or guardian, you can use a patient portal to access the health records of your minor child. Adults can grant proxy access to their health records to a spouse, family member or friend.

Where are radiology results available?

Radiology results are available in the patient portal immediately after results are determined by a Radiologist and entered into the electronic medical record.
