What is rapid antigen test?

The rapid antigen test we perform and the tests that the laboratories are using are FDA EUA (Emergency Use Authorization) approved . PCR/nasal swab test. The PCR/nasal swab test will tell you if you currently have COVID-19. A person with symptoms of COVID-19 is a candidate for this test.

Is PCR more accurate than PCR?

PCR tests take longer to produce results, but they produce more accurate results. A rapid antigen test may not be sufficient for medical or surgical clearance, please check with your healthcare provider. Rapid antigen testing may be recommended by the provider evaluating you if you currently have COVID symptoms.

Does insurance cover lab fees?

Please contact your insurance to determine your financial responsibility for the laboratory fees. If you are not covered by insurance, the laboratory may bill you for the full cost of the tests, unless you live in a state that has waived fees for uninsured patients.

Does telemedicine collect copay?

Assessment via Telemedicine or In-Office#N#For a telemedicine visit exclusively for COVID assessment, we will not collect a copay at the time of service. A claim will be submitted to your insurance to determine your individual financial responsibility. Click here to view our participating insurance companies. Patients with Non-Participating Commercial Insurance or Medicare will be billed a total charge of $65. If the telemedicine provider determines that a Rapid Antigen test is indicated, there will be an additional $35 billed. For those not covered by insurance, we will submit a claim to the appropriate state program. If you do not qualify for the state program, you will be billed as above.
