What are the patient portals and how do they work?

Our patient portals are a convenient way to securely view your personal health information and interact with Penn State Health. They play a key role in your heath care - providing a 24/7 connection to the information you need to make better decisions.

How do I register as a patient on the portal?

• Patients must provide an e-mail address when they are being registered. • Patients must complete a Portal Registration Form. • Patients may grant Proxy access to another individual by completing a Portal Registration Form-Proxy section. • Patients will receive a one-time login access by e-mail.

Can the patient portal diagnose a medical condition or emergency?

The Patient Portal is not intended to help diagnose a medical condition, provide any sort of treatment advice, or emergency help. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, you should be seen by the Emergency Department or you should call 911. Diagnosis can only be made and treatment provided after the patient has seen a doctor.
