Carole Lawrence, PCRM’s lab director, relocated to Edmonton from our Burnaby location, bringing with her more than twenty eight years of experience. Our clerks, MOAs, nurses, and physicians were selected for their expertise and attention to patient care.

What is PCRM's goal?

Our goal is simple: to provide excellent fertility care with a patient-centric approach. What does that mean? We recognize that treatments start and end with the patient. Having experienced staff is critical to our success, but we also know that focusing on our patients’ experiences makes all the difference. We carefully chose our Edmonton staff to reflect our goals. Why Edmonton?

Seethram have special ties to the city. Having completed their post-graduate residency at the University of Alberta, they have ongoing professional relationships with many health care providers in the area, particularly those involved in prenatal and fertility services. Feedback from Alberta colleagues over the years helped us recognize an exciting opportunity to bring our model of clinical care to Edmonton and meet the growing needs of the community. It is our hope that PCRM will broaden access to fertility services in northern Alberta.

What is PCRM practice highway?

PCRM uses Practice Hwy’s eIVF, a software program that includes a Patient Portal. The patient portal allows easy access to records as well as an open line of communication between patients and their care providers.

Does fertility clinic answer phone?

We take pride in personalizing a patient’s experience by being one of the only fertility clinics in Canada to answer phones during office hours. Connecting with our patients directly rather than through an automated phone system helps patients contact the most appropriate staff to address their specific concerns more immediately.

Does PCRM have a pharmacy?

PCRM is also pleased to be able to offer an on-site pharmacy to our patients and the community. This allows patients the convenience of picking up their medications and supplies during their appointments, a far simpler arrangement than filling a prescription at a local pharmacy. Not only do we provide medications, we educate patients on how to administer them safely and efficiently. Our staff provides one-on-one instruction for the proper handling of all fertility injections.

PCRM was founded in 2006. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest fertility clinics in Canada. Our headquarters is located on the perimeter of Vancouver to conveniently serve women in the Metro Vancouver area as well as those travelling from British Columbia’s interior, Whistler and the Coast. Is PCRM a clinical research?

PCRM is very active in both clinical and laboratory research. We constantly review the most current developments in our field in order to offer patients cutting-edge care. How long is a referral good for in Alberta?

Alberta: Your referral in Alberta is good for one year from the date you were last seen. For example, if you were last seen on August 24, 2019. You would need to be seen prior to August 24, 2020 to keep your file open. If you are not seen within the year, you need a new referral.

Is in vitro fertilization covered by Alberta?

Fertility treatments such as intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilization are not covered by provincial healthcare in Alberta and British Columbia. The costs of these treatments can be found in our fee guide.

Can you call PCRM fertility specialist?

This change was implemented in March 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Your PCRM fertility specialist will phone you at a scheduled appointment time. Please be understanding that sometimes our doctors are running ahead of, or behind, schedule as a result of the preceding phone calls. Please make sure your phone number permits calls from private caller ID.

Do I need a referral to see a fertility specialist?

Do I need a referral? Yes, a referral is required to see a fertility specialist at PCRM. You can obtain a referral from any community physician, such as a family doctor or gynecologist. If you do not have a family doctor you can use a walk-in clinic or access virtual care e.g. Babylon or Access Virtual.
