What is the new MHS Genesis patient portal?

MHS GENESIS is the new secure patient portal for TRICARE. It will eventually deploy to all military medical and dental facilities worldwide and replace the TOL Patient Portal.

Where do you make an appointment for outpatient?

The majority of routine, outpatient and inpatient appointments are made through the central scheduling office. When calling to make an appointment, the following information should be available:

Do you need a copy of a health care proxy?

If you have a health care proxy or living will, be sure to bring a copy with you to be placed in your medical record.

Is Tristar Health responsible for lost items?

Patients and visitors are responsible for all personal belongings. TriStar Health is not responsible for replacing lost or misplaced items, so we recommend that you bring only essential items to the hospital and leave valuables and jewelry at home. If you wear eyeglasses or dentures, please bring the appropriate storage containers.

Can you take off a bracelet in the hospital?

Do not take the bracelet off until you have been discharged from the hospital. If the bracelet comes off for any reason, notify your nurse and ask for a new one. Please note that contraband including drugs, alcohol and firearms or other weapons are not permitted on Hospital property.

What to do before hospital admission?

Before Your Hospital Admission. Before you even enter the hospital, a number of preparations will be made via phone, including: Your doctor's office staff will help get approval from your insurance provider. (Some plans require pre-approval.)

What does a doctor do when you arrive in the hospital?

Your doctor arranges for your admission, decides what tests and procedures you receive, prescribes your medications and diet in the hospital, and decides when you are ready to be discharged. It is important that you discuss your care with your doctor while you are hospitalized.

Is there a charge for private patient room?

There is no additional charge for your private patient room, TV and local phone calls. You must call collect or charge long distance calls to your home number or credit card. Sorry, we cannot add them to your hospital bill.
