When using eVisit to book and attend appointments, you must use Firefox or Chrome browsers! No other browsers are supported at this time and eVisit will not work if you’re logged into Safari, Internet Explorer, or Bing.

Does Medicare cover telemedicine?

eVisits are billed like regular office visits. Patients with insurance for telemedicine visits will pay their usual co-pay. Please note that Medicare will not cover telemedicine visits at this time. Patients without insurance coverage for a telemedicine visit or those who don’t have insurance will pay a flat $49 fee. You will only ever be billed by Dr. Maurer (eVisit does not charge patients to use its services) after your scheduled appointment. Experience

An active member in the medical community, Dr. Maurer has a strong affiliation with Howard County General Hospital, a division of Johns Hopkins Medicine. He leverages this network of professionals to keep his skill-set sharp and expand the resources he is able to offer his patients.

Outside The Office

Dr. Maurer has a grown son and daughter, newborn granddaughter, and wife of 33 years, Robin. He loves to spend time fishing, swimming and playing the bass as well as tennis.

Scott Maurer, MD, is a pediatric palliative care physician and a pediatric oncologist. Dr. Maurer is certified in pediatrics, pediatric hematology/oncology, and hospice and palliative medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Laurie’s professional nursing career began at The Children’s National Medical Center where she worked as a Nursing Service Director for the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit.

Marilyn Percival

Marilyn is a certified professional medical coder and previous medical office manager. Her resume boasts the completion of training courses at New York Financial as well as medical training at Howard County Community College. Marilyn also has teaching experience—instructing classes in medical coding at HCCC and Baltimore City College.

Teresa Lemon

Teresa is a retiree of the Howard County Gov. Office of Purchasing. For 32 years, she specialized in contracts administration and negotiations and procuring various goods and services to maintain quality of living for the citizens of Howard County, MD.
