Requesting Proxy MyChart Access for Children Age 11 and Younger

To request proxy access to your child’s NYU Langone Health MyChart account, you must first have your own account. If you are a patient at NYU Langone and don’t yet have an account, you can create your account online. If you are not a patient at NYU Langone, please call our MyChart Help Desk at 866-262-6458 so that we may create an account for you.

Sharing MyChart Access for People Age 12 and Older

People age 12 and older may choose to share access to their NYU Langone Health MyChart account with a parent, guardian, or other trusted caregiver or friend. Shared access to the accounts of people age 12 to 17 expires on their 18th birthday, in accordance with New York State law. The person can choose to share access again at that time.

When do we share personal information?

We may share your personal information in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business assets (e.g., further to a merger, reorganization, liquidation, or any other business transaction), including negotiations of such transactions.

What is NYU MyChart?

NYU MyChart may be personalized based on various information we may have about you to provide you with more location-relevant content. We may use GPS (global positioning systems) software, geo-filtering, and other location-aware technologies to locate you, sometimes precisely, for purposes such as verifying your location and delivering or restricting content based on your location. Our clinic location feature may access and use information about your device location to suggest appropriate clinic locations. Additionally, you may change your preferences regarding our “Appointment Arrival” feature, which uses your phone’s location to notify front desk staff when you’ve arrived. You may use your device settings to change your geolocation preferences.

How does NYU use your information?

As a non-profit organization, NYU Langone’s collection of children’s personal information is not governed by the U.S. Children’s Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). A Minor NYU MyChart Account user may choose to share their information with a parent or guardian through the “Share MyChart Access” feature.

Does NYU MyChart share information?

We may also share certain information to other devices or applications as per your preferences. Connecting to other devices or applications, such as Apple HealthKit or Google Fit, may entail sharing information between NYU MyChart and such devices related to the device’s technologies or features (e.g., thermometers, blood pressure calculators, weight measuring).

Does NYU MyChart collect personal information?

We or third parties, including our vendors, may collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different online services when you use NYU MyChart.

Does NYU Langone MyChart sync with the website?

How long does it take to receive a reply from NYU Langone?

You will generally receive a reply within two business days. Please note that NYU Langone Health MyChart should not be used for urgent matters. Please contact your medical provider if you have an urgent question, or dial 911 if you are experiencing an emergency

Does NYU Langone use MyChart?

Most, but not all, NYU Langone Health System providers use MyChart to exchange secure electronic messages with patients. Please check with your provider's office if you do not see him or her listed in your account.

Does NYU Langone Health MyChart release lab results?

Certain laboratory tests of a sensitive nature are not automatically released only to NYU Langone Health MyChart, and are released at your provider's discretion. If you do not see an expected test result, please contact your physician's office to request that these results be released to your MyChart account.

Is NYU Langone Health MyChart a federal or state law?

NYU Langone Health MyChart is owned and operated by NYU Langone Health MyChart and is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your name and email address will be treated with the same care and privacy given to your health records, and will never be sold or leased by NYU Langone Health MyChart.
