When can a parent access MyChart?

When the patient is age 12 or younger: Parents/guardians can request a proxy account and will have full access to the child’s MyChart information. For patients ages 13 –17: Parents/guardians can continue to use MyChart to share messages with some of their providers and view or pay bills.

How old do you have to be to get a MyChart account?

In order to grant access to their account, a patient 18 years of age or older must create their own MyChart account by visiting MyChart.HopkinsMedicine.org and select “Sign Up Now” or by calling their practitioner.

How do I get notified of new medical information on MyChart?

You will be notified via e-mail when there is new medical information to be viewed on MyChart. Notifications may include, but are not limited to, provider messages, test results, prescription renewals, letters, questionnaires, after visit summaries and appointment status and reminders.

When can a minor access MyChart?

Thus, when a minor patient reaches age 13, restrictions will be placed on parents’ or legal guardians’ MyChart access until the minor reaches age 18. At age 18, a child is no longer a minor and access by parents or legal guardians will be terminated automatically.

How old do you have to be to get a MyChart account?

An individual must be age 13 or older to request a personal MyChart account. Parents or legal guardians of minor children may request access to the minor child's medical information by following the terms outlined in the "Proxy Access" section of these Terms of Use.

How long does it take to respond to a MyChart request?

The average turnaround time for responding to requests for information submitted through MyChart is two to three business days. Therefore, communications via MyChart for urgent matters is not appropriate if a quicker response time is needed. In those circumstances, contact your personal health care provider directly.

What is MyChart communication?

Communications from your health care providers via MyChart will contain important information regarding your health care. It also is possible your health care providers may decide not to communicate such information by other means if communicated through MyChart.

Can you take MyChart outside of hospital?

By agreeing to use MyChart Bedside, you understand that the tablet provided to you is a loan. You agree not to take the tablet outside of your hospital unit and agree to take reasonable measures to protect the tablet from loss or damage. You may be responsible for any loss or damage to the tablet caused by you.

Can I download apps on my MyChart bedside?

You will be able to access and use several applications (“apps”) on the tablet using your own personal account log-in. You will not be able to download any apps that have not been preloaded onto the tablet. By agreeing to use MyChart Bedside, you understand that the tablet provided to you is a loan.

What to do if your ACA activation code is expired?

If your activation code has expired, please contact the help desk at 800-318-4246. Provide the analyst with your expired activation code and a new one can be given to you. If you no longer have your activation code, some, but not all, of our practice sites are able to mail you an activation code at your request.

It does not have to be your legal name. If it is your legal name, you do not have to update your profile. MyChart users who are 13 years of age and older can update their preferred or chosen name on MyChart desktop, by logging in to their MyChart account, go to profile settings, and then to “Personal Information.”.

Can a parent access MyChart?

A parent or legal guardian who is granted access as a proxy for a child age 13-17 has limited access to the child's MyChart information.
