Heart of the City Counseling Center provides scientifically validated treatments to ease and heal the emotional pain of depression, anxiety, and much more. The center focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as other types of therapy. A wide variety of concerns and conditions can be addressed including substance use and psychiatric disorders, stress or trauma, family and relationship issues, emotional or sexual abuse, and dealing with life’s unexpected challenges. We provide individual and group treatment as well as consultations with psychiatrists for medications.

Outpatient substance use treatment is provided by experienced credentialed therapists and is generally facilitated through the use of individual one-to-one sessions lasting 45 to 60 minutes. All therapists are capable of treating persons with both mental health and substance use disorders. Therapists are trained to help patients reduce risky behaviors related to using substances such as tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, and other addictive substances.
