What is Tahoe MyChart?

MyChart is our new patient portal for all your Carson Tahoe Health & Carson Tahoe Medical Group needs. MyChart acts as a gateway to your complete health record. The secure online platform gives you convenient, 24-hour access to personal health information and can act as a quick resource for you and your provider assuring the best possible care experience. Having your medical information right at your fingertips puts YOU in control of your health. You will receive an activation code at the time of scheduling and when you check-in at a clinic. You may receive an activation code for MyChart as part of your discharge paperwork from primary care, urgent care, or any hospital visit. You can use one MyChart login to manage your health records for all providers that use Epic & MyChart. After you have activated your Carson Tahoe MyChart account, you can link other existing MyChart accounts you may have. Our support number (775) 445-6403 is available Monday - Friday (excluding holidays) from 6 AM - 8 PM and on weekends from 8 AM - 8 PM.

Does Carson Tahoe Health have patient information?

Carson Tahoe Health believes in patient information transparency, and we believe you deserve to see your information as soon as it's available. We will release ALL notes and results immediately to you so you may see some results even before your primary care provider. What causes bladder cancer?

It is not always clear as to what causes one to contract bladder cancer. Some things that have been associated with bladder cancer are smoking and radiation exposure amongst many others. Symptoms of bladder cancer can range from blood in your urine, frequent and or painful urination, back pain, or pelvic pain. It is best to discuss any of the above concerns with your provider.

What is enlarged prostate?

Enlarged prostate, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), can occur in men as they age. An enlarged prostate can become an issue if the prostate becomes so enlarged that it begins to put pressure on the urethra or bladder.

Can prostate cancer cause pain?

It can be aggressive and require immediate treatment. In its early stages, prostate cancer may not cause any symptoms. In later development you may notice some difficulty urinating, less of a urine stream, or new/unusual bone pain.

Can kidney stones cause bladder problems?

Kidney stones are made of small minerals that form stones. Having kidney stones may cause issues with your urinary tract as the stones could block urine to your bladder. Kidney stones can be painful. Can bladder infection cause pain?

Bladder infections can cause pain upon urination, blood in the urine, burning and or a strong need to urinate. UTI’s can also present as a kidney infection, which can cause severe to moderate back pain and fever. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you should contact your provider.

Can kidney cancer cause pain in the back?

Kidney cancer very rarely causes any symptoms in the early stages. In advanced stages you may experience blood in your urine, pain in your back. Can enlarged prostate cause urinary urgency?

Enlarged prostate can cause urinary urgency, a weak stream, and, when left untreated, BPH can lead to urinary, bladder and kidney problems. We at Carson Urologists use the Rezūm System to treat enlarged prostate for men in the Carson City, Reno, Fallon, Minden, Lake Tahoe, and surrounding areas.

James A. Cunningham, MD

James A. Cunningham. MD joined Carson Urologists in 1995, and has been serving Northern Nevada for over twenty years. He was initially certified by the American Board of Urology in 1997, and has maintained active board certification, having most recently recertified in 2014.

Roland N. Chen, MD

Dr. Chen joined Carson Urologists in June 2000. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery for the urinary tract and has performed thousands of laparoscopic and percutaneous procedures for kidney disease. His primary interest is in the treatment of kidney cancer and complex kidney stones.

Randall George Nixon, MD

Dr. Nixon received his medical degree from the University of Washington School Medicine in 1998. He performed his internship in General Surgery, and his residency in Urologic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology.

Brian D. Montgomery, MD

Dr. Montgomery received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University of Medicine in 2013. He completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in 2018 and is trained in robotic surgery. Dr. Montgomery’s primary interests are in minimally invasive robotic surgery including the treatment of prostate cancer and kidney cancer.
