CABS provides individual, family, group, respite and crisis counseling. Services are provided to youth and their families that reside in Lake County. Assessment for psychiatric hospitalization is provided to all Lake County youth who are wards of DCFS, have Medicaid or KidCare and all uninsured youth.
Fees for CABS services are based on level of income and number of dependents. A sliding fee schedule based on national poverty levels is available for Lake County residents. The program accepts Medicaid/ Kidcare.
On October 1, 2017, CABS was awarded a four-year grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The Lake County System of Care (SOC) Expansion project will target children and adolescents ages 3-20 in Lake County who are diagnosed with a serious emotional disturbance.
