What is postnatal care in Fairbanks?

Each day, one of our doctors is dedicated to the laboring patients of Alaska Women’s Health. We are specialized in vaginal deliveries, operative vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections. We do offer Trial of Labor After Cesarean (TOLAC) to our patients when appropriate, and are proud to have helped many women with successful Vaginal Births After Cesarean (VBACs).

What We Need from You

We require that all patients complete our registration form before seeing an Alaska Women’s Health provider, which includes your current insurance information.

Payment Required at the Date of Your Visit

We require payment at the time of your appointment, which usually just means your copayment or deductible. However, some procedures require full payment before being conducted. We accept cash, personal checks, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover Card, and debit cards.

What You Need to Bring to Your Appointment

For us to provide the best care possible, please bring your insurance cards to every appointment. If you have a PPO, HMO, or another policy type, please call your insurance provider to ensure they will cover the services you receive at Alaska Women’s Health.

Your Medical Records are Secure

We take the confidentiality of your medical records very seriously. Alaska Women’s Health will not release them in full or in part without your written consent. For questions about your medical records after becoming an Alaska Women’s Health patient, please contact our medical records department.

When is postpartum care given?

Postpartum care is given to a mother during the first six weeks after the birth of a child. Our experienced providers will give you the support you need as you navigate changes to your body and your family.

Your health is important to you around the clock–not just during office hours. MyChart allows you review your health history including lab results, medications, immunizations and more–all securely stored for quick retrieval online! You can also use MyChart to manage your family’s health as well, including elderly parents and children.
