NIPT (Noninvasive prenatal testing) The NIPT test is a noninvasive blood test that's available to all pregnant women beginning at 10 weeks of pregnancy. It screens for Down syndrome and some other chromosomal conditions, and it can tell you whether you're having a boy or a girl.
If you have a positive NIPT result, your healthcare provider will likely order additional diagnostic tests. In some cases, these diagnostic tests reveal that the baby doesn't have a chromosomal abnormality after all.
Natera's Panorama® is the first NIPT that can determine whether twins are monozygotic (identical) or dizygotic (non-identical or fraternal) as early as nine weeks' gestation.
The ultrasound around 18-20 weeks to reveal the baby's sex is close to 100% accurate, and it's less accurate before 15-16 weeks, but mistakes have been known to have been made. NIPT, CVS, amniocentesis are very reliable methods to determine the baby's sex. There are other methods, most of which are less reliable.
Panorama is a noninvasive prenatal screening test (NIPT) that reveals a baby's risk for genetic disorders as early as nine weeks. Panorama analyzes baby's (placental) DNA through a simple blood draw from the mother's arm. Collect specimen using the collection kit provided by Natera to the genetic counselors.
The review, which looked at 57 studies representing 6,541 pregnancies, found the blood tests gave a genuine result (sensitivity) 95% of the time and that this result was accurate or correct for gender (specificity) 98.6% of the time.
What diseases can be detected through genetic testing?Down syndrome.Huntington's disease.Cystic fibrosis.Sickle cell disease.Phenylketonuria.Colon (colorectal) cancer.Breast cancer.

Using advanced bioinformatics techniques, Panorama screens for a broad panel of chromosomal conditions, including: Chromosome Conditions.
Panorama is a non-invasive DNA screening test that can give you important information about your pregnancy, from as early as nine weeks into pregnancy. With a simple blood test, you can find out the likelihood of your baby having a condition such as Down Syndrome or Edwards Syndrome. If you choose, you can also find out the gender of your baby. The test is available and validated for single, twin, egg donor and surrogate pregnancies.
A blood test from 9 weeks of pregnancy to screen for Down Syndrome, Edward Syndrome, Patau Syndrome and some other genetic conditions. Also tests for 22q11 (Di George Syndrome) found in some fetuses with cardiac defects and cleft palate. Fetal gender optional. Includes a complimentary early viability/growth scan.
Results are usually reported within 2 weeks. In about 1.6% (as opposed to 3% for other NIPT tests), a result is not possible (usually because there is not enough fetal DNA in the original blood sample). When this happens, a repeat blood test may be required and this is done at no extra cost. After a second sample only about 0.03% tests remain unreportable.
Panorama has been the test of choice of more than 2 million women around the world, from over 80 countries. It’s safe, reliable and highly accurate. Added to this, it has some exclusive features: the only NIPT to differentiate between mother and baby’s DNA for the conditions screened. the most reliable NIPT with the highest accuracy.
You may be offered invasive diagnostic testing such as amniocentesis or CVS. No irreversible pregnancy decisions should ever be made based on a Panorama result alone. In a small percentage of cases, Panorama may not be able to obtain sufficient information from your blood sample to determine an accurate result.
According to the International Society for Prenatal Diagnosis (ISPD), non-invasive prenatal testing (like the Panorama Test) is appropriate as a primary screening test for pregnant women of all ages. Down Syndrome and certain other chromosomal conditions occur more frequently in babies born to mothers over 35 years old.
