In order to assure the safety and health of both our patients and visitors, we ask that the following guidelines be observed: 1 For the health of our patients, staff, and visitors, Palomar Health is a smoke-free environment and smoking is not permitted anywhere on campus. 2 For health reasons, visitors must dress appropriately and wear shirts and shoes. 3 Duration of visits, number of visits and ages of visitors may be limited by the nursing staff consistent with the level of care the patient requires. 4 In the best interest of our patients’ health, people with a cold, sore throat or any contagious disease are requested not to visit patients. 5 Because patients are recovering from illness or surgery, visits should be kept short. 6 Visitors should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise. 7 For privacy reasons, visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient. 8 For safety reasons, children must be supervised by a parent or other adult at all times.
Due to the potential risk to medical equipment, Palomar Health restricts the use of wireless communication devices. The use of cellular phones by patients and visitors is permitted only outside of the patient’s room and away from other patients and visitors.
It was a very good year. Apple was preparing to ship its first computer; the mini-series "Roots" premiered on ABC and "Star Wars" debuted in drive-in theatres across the nation. And if that's not enough, a gallon of gas was 65 cents, a McDonald's cheeseburger set you back 40 cents, and a cup of coffee was a dime.
