Do I need a referral to see an orthopaedic provider?

Many insurance companies require an insurance referral from your primary care physician (PCP) in order to be seen by an Orthopaedics Northeast provider. Please verify with your insurance company whether you need a referral prior to your visit with us.

How do I register as an orthopaedic patient?

Option 1: I am a patient of Orthopaedics East and registering myself. If you’ve received your PIN from our Medical Records Department and are registering for yourself, select this option and follow the simple steps in the PDF document. View PDF Instructions

What can we do at Orthopedic Center?

We provide medical and surgical care for both adults and children with muscle and bone injuries, disabilities, and diseases. Our specialized training enables us to offer outstanding care in joint replacement, sports medicine, hand surgery, and trauma, as well as podiatric and foot care needs.

Can an orthopaedic emergency require immediate attention?

Occasionally, however, a patient with an orthopaedic emergency requires immediate attention. If this situation delays scheduled appointments, we will try our best to minimize your waiting time.

Do you need a referral to the HMO office?

If you are a member of an HMO, you may be required to obtain a formal referral to our office from your primary care physician and/or insurance company. Please remember that you are responsible for obtaining the referral prior to your visit.

Does Orthopaedics Northeast accept Medicare?

Orthopaedics Northeast participates with most insurance plans, including Aetna, AARP, Allways Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Health Plans, Fallon Community Health Plan, Medicaid (MassHealth), Medicare, Partners Health Choice, Steward Health Choice, Tufts Health Plan, Unicare, United Healthcare and Workers’ Compensation plans. Please call the office or your insurance company if you have any questions or concerns about whether we accept your insurance plan.
