How long are medical records kept?

Medical records are housed for 20 years and two months , per hospital policy. For patients requesting a chart larger than 150 pages or for companies requesting healthcare records, charges apply and must be paid before records are released.

How long does it take to get medical records?

Please allow seven to 14 business days for completion of a medical records request. Please be aware that it can take up to 30 days as allowed by law. Continuing care releases are given priority. If you need medical records for an upcoming appointment, please let us know, and we will expedite your request. Home health and hospice medical records will be released within four days as required by regulation.

For Those Seeking COVID-19 Test Results

Once you have submitted your request for an email copy of your results, a minimum of 4 days is required for turnaround. Only positive test results will be communicated via telephone by a hospital representative Monday through Friday.
