Canceling appointments

To cancel an appointment, please notify the clinic at least 24 hours in advance. This is an important courtesy to others waiting to schedule an appointment.

Immunizations and injections

Visits for immunizations or injections only do not require a regular appointment with the physician. However, please call us at least one day in advance so we can make sure to have adequate supplies and staff to assist you.

Refills should be requested during regular office visits. Please allow 72 hours for refills to be completed. Your options for refills outside of office visits include:

FHIR is Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources. It’s a standard that enables applications to retrieve clinical data from Electronic Medical Record systems, such as Epic, using APIs. An API is an Application Programming Interface which gives 3 rd party applications access to data within Epic.

Oakwood

Oakwood is an Intermediate Care Facility providing residential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The facility, located on 200 acres in Somerset, Kentucky opened in 1972. New Vista began management of Oakwood in 2006.

Oakwood Specialty Clinic

The Oakwood Specialty Clinic is a state of the art facility providing the highest quality medical, dental and psychiatric care to individuals with IDD. The doctors and staff are experts in treating persons with IDD and communicating with their families. Services are based on best practices in IDD treatment.

Community Services

Oakwood provides IDD services to the community as well through a mobile crisis team to assist families and agencies across the state. Oakwood partners with advocacy groups, universities and medical specialists. In addition, Oakwood hosts continuing education classes, as well as internships and practicums.
