Surgeries are scheduled according to age order: youngest to oldest. You will receive the time you need to arrive at the Ambulatory Center when you come in for pre-operative testing. It is VERY important that you arrive at this time so that all paperwork can be processed before the scheduled surgery time.
Your child needs to be evaluated by the pediatrician 1-2 days prior to surgery. You must bring this clearance with you to the hospital on the day of surgery.

NYU Winthrop Hospital requires that your child undergo a pre-operative testing visit. At that time, the anesthesia department will ask you questions, tell you what time surgery is scheduled, go over feeding instructions and determine if any blood work is necessary. If blood work is needed, the test will be performed there
Your post-operative instruction sheet can be printed from this website. Please read them before your surgery. Bring a list of questions with you to the hospital so your surgeon can review them with you. Be aware that your child may go home with prescriptions for medication.

Only under rare and extenuating circumstances are students permitted to transfer after just one semester since submitting their initial internal transfer application.
