Misdiagnosis in medicine is common and can cause complication/illness, so not a small thing. The general VA PCP model is 1st patient visit, run labs (regardless of patient history), second visit- actually maybe diagnose (if they're a good doc).
It's almost impossible to get through to them on the phone, they don't replay to their on-line message service and when you do get through, the doctors don't actually do what they've been requested to do! A week to get an urgent refill to a prescription & their response is that a review is needed in person, don't actually tell us, and then say it'll take a week to get an appointment!! REALLY!!!!
