Your Visit

To serve you in the best way possible, we work by appointments. Please let us know of any issues that may necessitate how soon you need to be seen. To schedule an appointment of a non-urgent matter online, you can do so here or call our appointment line at: 203-644-1150.

Insurance

At Women's Health Care of New England we participate in many managed care plans and see patients with government as well as traditional insurance. Some insurance plans may require that you get a referral from your regular doctor before you visit us if we are not your designated gynecologist.

Billing and Payments

You are responsible for learning details of your coverage from your insurance plan, including all deductibles, co-payments and/or any referrals that may be required by your insurance company. Your co-payment is expected at the time of service, and payment in full is expected at each visit for services not covered by your insurance.

Forms

New Patients: Please download and complete our patient forms prior to your appointment and present them on your upcoming visit. Otherwise the applicable forms will need to be filled out upon arrival at our office so please come 15 minutes early to do so. At regular intervals, you will be asked to update this information.

Explanations of Benefits Available on Member Portal

Another new feature of the member portal is that Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) are now available online at my.HealthNewEngland.org. As part of an ongoing effort to minimize our impact on the environment, EOBs are no longer being automatically mailed to members.

How to get CNME to send notifications?

Step 1: Log in to MyChart. Step 2: Go to "Account Settings" and click "Communication Preferences". Step 3: Under "Health" deselect emails and/or text messages for test results. CNme does not currently push portal notifications to your phone or device.

What is HIE in healthcare?

Health Information Exchange (HIE) allows health care professionals to appropriately access and securely share patient medical information electronically. HIE systems have been in development nationwide since a federal law was passed in 2009 to promote the use of electronic movement and use of health information among health care providers.

What is clinical information?

Clinical information including medications, allergies, lab and test results, image reports, conditions, diagnoses and vaccination history. Certain demographic information used to identify the patient, such as name and birth date. How to opt-out of sharing health information with an HIE.

What information can you give to an emergency medical team?

In an emergency, you can quickly give emergency personnel vital information, such as a disease you're being treated for, previous surgeries or hospitalizations, medications you take, allergies, and how to contact your primary care doctor.

Can a portal see your medical history?

Their view of your portal is the same as yours. This means they can see all of your information, including (but not limited to) test results, provider notes, past medical history, and messages between you and your provider. This may be a good time to review who has access to your portal account.

Can you see your test results before you contact your health care team?

Because this is a new way of sharing information, you may see test results before your health care team has had the chance to review the result and contact you. Additionally, you’re going to be getting these results as soon as they are final when your care team may not be immediately available for questions.

Online Access to Your Personal Health Information

At the hospital patient portal, you can access read-only medical information through our secure server. This includes educational materials, information on your current medications, allergies, immunizations, health issues, and lab test results. All information is pulled directly from your electronic health records.
