What is the number to report a patient to the NIH?

The number of the new anonymous hotline is: 1-866-444-8811. If you have questions about this new reporting tool or about patient safety and clinical quality at the NIH CC, please contact Mary J. Sparks, Acting Director, Office of Patient Safety and Clinical Quality at 301-594-1384.

How to contact PEF?

Where is West Drive in the NIH?

Use West Drive Patient Entrance at the intersection of West Cedar Lane and West Drive, directly north of the main entrance of the Clinical Center. The facility is designed to ease and speed NIH access for patients by providing one-stop security screening. (Please bring a photo ID if you are 16 or older.)

Please feel free to call the Department of Clinical Bioethics at 301-496-2429 if you have questions or concerns about your part in biomedical research.

When will barber services be available in 2021?

Barber services are available to inpatients starting April 27, 2021. An appointment should be made for using these services. Please call 202-570-1073 or 202-607-7118 to make an appointment. Services are limited to 40 minutes per appointment and must be scheduled in advance. No “walk in” appointments are available. Non-patients and outpatients are not eligible for services at this time.

Do children play in the playroom?

Children and their families are welcome in the playroom. At least one special event for children is held each month. Occasionally, special visitors entertain the children during these events. When time permits, entertainers may visit patients in their rooms.
