What does it feel like to have a mood disorder?

Moods can be contagious: the irritability or excitement of mania, the gloom of depression. During a severe episode, it can feel like you are always in crisis mode, and in that mode it becomes hard to think clearly. You may wonder how to react, how to help, and which actions come from the illness and which come from the real person.

About Our Program to Treat Bipolar Disorder

The Mood Treatment Center offers an intensive 6-week program that provides extra help for people with bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder is a brain disorder that causes changes in mood, energy level and sleep. It can make day-to-day activities hard.

Visits With Our Psychiatrist & Medication

A large part of managing bipolar disorder involves getting your medicine right. Often medicine needs to be adjusted to fit an individual’s needs. You see your psychiatrist every week to ensure that your medicine is working for you. The psychiatrist is from our partner Dell Medical School.

Weekly Group Therapy for Bipolar Disorder

Group therapy is an effective part of treatment for anyone. You receive group support and a safe place to work on the way you relate to other people.

Peer Support for Bipolar Disorder

Our peer support specialist has a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Her life experience makes her a unique part of the team supporting you. She has valuable knowledge and tools to share. She can meet you at our clinic, at your home, out in the community or over the phone.

Referral To Other Services

We can refer you to other Integral Care services to maintain your mental and physical health, such as drug and alcohol treatment or help quitting tobacco.
