Where to go if you have an emergency?

Emergencies. If you have an emergency, sometimes every second counts. It is best to go immediately to the emergency room of the hospital nearest you. At the emergency room, a physician will examine you, and if needed, contact your gastroenterologist.

What happens if a doctor calls you and says it is not an emergency?

Your message will be relayed to the nurse. If your call is not an emergency, it may be later in the day before it is returned. Often the nurse will convey the doctor's response to you concerning your problem. This allows the doctor to spend more personal time with in-office patients.

How to make an appointment at a pharmacy?

Our office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. It is important that your appointment is convenient for you, so please: 1 Call for an appointment several days in advance if possible. 2 Describe the nature of the problem to the receptionist. 3 Bring your insurance card, all current medications, and be prepared to spend 20 minutes of your time to discuss paperwork and prep. 4 Notify us as soon as possible if you need to postpone your appointment.

Is a patient's medical record confidential?

As our patient you have the right to privacy and confidentiality regarding your office visit and medical records. Information pertaining to any patient is strictly confidential by federal/state law and by medical ethics rules. We do not release any patient information without the written authorization of the patient.
