What is MDwise P4V?

MDwise is committed to providing high quality, cost-effective health care to our members. By establishing our Physician Pay for Value (P4V) Program, MDwise strives for a strong partnership with our PMPs, resulting in improved quality and access to health care services. When will MDwise CES be implemented?

Some of those edits were not initially functional. All remaining validation edits will be implemented on March 1st, 2021. All claims submitted to MDwise will be subject to Optum CES.

What is a CES in MDwise?

Effective 10/1/ 2020, all claims submitted to MDwise will be subject to Optum CES. CES is designed to automatically check each claim, on a pre-payment basis, for errors, omissions and questionable coding relationships by testing the data against industry rules, regulations and policies governing health care claims. CES will also detect coding errors, including but not limited to: errors relating to unbundling, incidental procedures, modifier appropriateness, diagnoses and duplicate claims.

When will the Radiology Code be updated?

Effective June 1st, 2019, the Prior Authorization guide has been updated with additional Radiology codes. Please review our prior authorization guide for these code updates. These codes will require authorization effective June 1st, 2019 for all contracted and non-contracted providers.

When will MDwise move to optum?

MDwise will move to Optum Clearinghouse for 2019. To receive electronic payments for 2019 dates of service, you will need to enroll with Optum at www.optum.com/eps.

When was PA approved?

Recent updates to Opioid Analgesic and Benzodiazepine/Sedative Hypnotic Prior Authorization (PA) Criteria were approved by the Drug Utilization Review (DUR) Board at its August 17, 2018 , meeting. The criteria changes will be effective for opioid analgesic and benzodiazepine PA requests submitted on or after March 5, 2019.

When will MDwise faxes be rejected?

MDwise is aware that a number of faxes were rejected from the evening of 08/7/2020 to 11:30am on 8/10/2020. This includes faxes submitted to our Prior Authorization fax number (s).
