Why does Mass General Brigham share patient information with third party providers?

Can I access my health information from a non-Mass General Brigham provider?

You may be able to access your health information from a non-Mass General Brigham provider if he or she is using the same electronic health record vendor (known as Epic). You will receive notification through Patient Gateway when your provider adopts the new functionality that allows you to request your medical records online.

What is patient gateway and how do I use it?

Patient Gateway is also accessible via our app for iPhone or Android. Please note: Even if your practice does not offer Patient Gateway, you can still use it to view your health information. Patient Gateway is a medical resource with links to information for your medications, allergies, immunizations, and lab results. Parents, guardians, and adult children of elder parents may also take advantage of these features to help coordinate care for children, dependents, or elders.

Is a patient gateway proxy the same as a health care proxy?
