What time does MAHEC test?

MAHEC's Acute Care Clinic offers testing by appointment only, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm and Saturday 8am-noon. You do not need a physician referral and you do not need to be symptomatic to receive a test. Most insurance companies cover the cost and MAHEC has options to help uninsured patients cover the cost. To make an appointment, please call (828) 257-4730 and press option #1.

Do all patients need a facemask?

A facemask will be provided to all patients and visitors, if needed.

Does MAHEC accept commercial insurance?

Welcome to the MAHEC Family Health Centers, where patients of all ages can establish their medical home. Most forms of commercial insurance are accepted and filed for you at all of our locations.

Does MAHEC have virtual support?

Virtual support continues to be welcomed at all MAHEC locations. If you would prefer to call your support person from the exam room so they can participate in your visit, we encourage you to do so.

Why is MAHEC important?

All MAHEC patients have the benefit of being followed by MAHEC practitioners when admitted to the hospital. This allows better continuity of care and participation by their providers in a patient’s care should the patient require hospitalization.

Does MAHEC Biltmore have a physician on call?

Established patients at the Newbridge office have the full benefit of MAHEC’s spectrum of services for patients. We have 24/7 access to a physician on call. X-ray, DEXA (bone density) and retinal imaging scans are all available at the MAHEC Biltmore Campus. All MAHEC offices are on the same Electronic Medical Record, facilitating communication among providers and allowing providers to access your medical record at all our offices. Behavioral health services are also available through MAHEC at the Biltmore Campus location.

Ob/Gyn Specialists patients: (828) 771-5443 or (828) 771-3501. If you have a question about your bill, please call our Billing Department at (828) 257-4725 and follow the prompts to navigate to the billing specialist for your insurance/self-pay type.

What time does OB/Gyn billing open?

Our billing specialists are available Monday thru Friday from 7:30am until 4:30pm. If you are unable to pay your bill in full, please call to speak with a Patient Financial Advocate. Ob/Gyn Specialists patients: (828) 771-5443 or (828) 771-3501.
