Xeomin ® (incobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medication injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults. Xeomin ® contains botulinum toxin type A, a protein purified from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Over time, as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines. Botulinum toxin type A – the active ingredient in Xeomin ® – acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, Xeomin ® can temporarily reduce the lines between your eyebrows.
This non-surgical procedure takes about 40-60 minutes and requires minimal recovery time. You can resume day-to-day activities immediately after and make -up can be worn 24 hours after the procedure. Some patients may experience some redness with light peeling for 1-2 days after the procedure.
Fortunately, Lubbock Family Medicine offers a safe and relatively gentle treatment: The VI Peel. This innovative chemical peel can improve the texture and feel of dull sun damaged skin and reduce some sun spots and hyperpigmentation. It may also reduce fine lines, wrinkling and deep acne scars.
With three simple treatment sessions, just six weeks apart, you may see improvements in both your appearance and confidence.
