Simply email your favorite photos to JHH Friendly Faces at jhhfriendlyfaces@jh.edu, and a staff member will print up to eight photos per patient and deliver them to the patient’s bedside. Please make sure to include the patient’s full name and room number in the email. The goal of JHH Friendly Faces is to help our Johns Hopkins community feel a little closer to the people and things they care about during this stressful time.
Johns Hopkins uses four color-coded visitation risk levels — purple, red, yellow and green — to determine if we can safely invite care partners to join patients during outpatient office visits. These guidelines help protect our patients, their care partners and our staff members by limiting spread of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. The visitation risk levels are based on the number of COVID-19 cases in the community according to state and county public health information, as well as conditions in our healthcare environments.
For patients who need to stay overnight at a Johns Hopkins Medicine hospital, we are using four color-coded visitation risk levels — purple, red, yellow and green — to determine if care partners may safely visit patients during their hospital stay. These levels are based primarily on COVID-19 activity in the community. Purple is the most limited level and green is the most open.
A care partner for outpatient or inpatient visits may be a relative, partner, friend or anyone the patient chooses to have at their side during care. For inpatient visits, care partners must be 18 or older, except for those under 18 who are parents of patients.
Alternatively, you may also choose to contact our team to request the release of medical information and reports. To receive a copy of a medical record/summary for dependents over 18 years old, such as dependent parents, visit the JHAH Medical Liaison office. Your dependent needs to be present to sign the ‘Authorization to Request Release of Medical Records’ form. If your dependent is not able to come to JHAH, you will need to present a JHAH approved evidence of authorization, such as a notarized power of attorney or a court order.

A patient should allow at least four (4) business days for a response. Accordingly, emergency situations should not be submitted electronically.
Patients who are users of MyWVUChart should be aware that they will be notified via e-mail when there is new medical information to be viewed on MyWVUChart. This means that any person with access to a patient’s e-mail will be able to see this notification. This could include the patient’s spouse, employer, or anyone else that can access a patient’s e-mail account. Although no private medical information will be sent, the notification that new medical information is available by accessing MyWVUChart may be information that a patient would not want others to know. Thus, patients should take this into account when providing an e-mail address.
You will have 30 days to activate the system before your temporary code expires. When you access MyWVUChart for the first time, you will be asked the social security number and date of birth of the patient.
