What is Brianna's diagnosis?

Brianna, an elementary education major at West Chester University, was diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of eight. Despite having to wear a back brace every night for seven years, her competitive spirit drove her to excel on the basketball court throughout her teenage years. By 19, however, severe back pain crept into her life. The curve in Brianna’s spine had become much more severe, going from 35 to 52 degrees. She was referred to Jefferson Health, where spine specialists recommended spinal fusion surgery to reduce the severity of her scoliosis .
