Breast Density Legislation Details

State law requires notification on a patient's mammography report if the mammogram indicates Heterogeneously Dense and Extremely Dense breast tissue. Dense breast tissue may make it more difficult to evaluate the results of a mammogram and may also be associated with an increased risk of breast cancer.

Patient Navigator

If you need additional testing after your mammogram, our patient navigator is your point of contact after you leave. Initial studies have shown, this resource helps improve five-year survival rates for breast cancer patients and resolves barriers to timely care. You can learn more about this on The Iowa Clinic blog.
