What is Interfaith Medical Center?

Interfaith Medical Center is a multi-site community teaching health care system which provides a wide range of medical, surgical, gynecological, dental, psychiatric, pediatric and other services throughout Central Brooklyn, New York.

How many patients has interfaith served?

InterFaith has served over 24,000 individual patients by providing affordable medical, dental, and mental health care & access to prescription medications. In December 2021, InterFaith's dental department is getting a new home!

Welcome to Interfaith Community Clinic. Founded by Dr. Joel Kerschenbaum, South County Community Clinic, dba Interfaith Community Clinic (ICC) opened its doors in 1996 to meet the medical needs of the uninsured population in Montgomery County.

New Patients

To receive care, individuals must make an appointment to assess eligibility prior to seeing a doctor. Eligibility interviews are conducted by appointment by calling the Clinic’s main number at (281) 364-7889 during normal business hours. (Monday – Thursday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am-Noon)

We are pleased to offer our patients the ability to communicate securely with their providers, and order refills all at home through the patient portal. If you haven't signed up for our Patient Portal we recommend you contact the front desk to be able to use these great features.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteerism is a vital component of Interfaith Community Clinic. Approximately 90% of all services are performed by licensed professionals volunteering their time to help our patients. The clinic’s volunteers are truly the key to our success.

Becoming a New Patient

Interfaith Dental Clinic provides comprehensive and emergency dental services for low-income, uninsured individuals suffering from devastating dental disease on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size.

Obtaining an Application

Applications for this program are available every month on a first-come first-serve basis. There are a limited number of applications given out each month, so we encourage our potential patients to arrive early in order to ensure the best possibility of obtaining an application.

When was Interfaith Health Clinic founded?

​InterFaith Health Clinic was founded in 1991 to help hardworking people in our community who don't have health insurance coverage. InterFaith has served over 24,000 individual patients by providing affordable medical, dental, and mental health care & access to prescription medications. ​

Is Interfaith Health Clinic a non profit?

InterFaith Health Clinic is a not-for-profit health care ministry that serves the low-income, working uninsured and underserved. Here you will find a caring team of health care professionals who want to help you stay healthy.

Who will bill you for a procedure?

For the professional portion of a procedure, your physician, anesthesiologist, and radiologist will bill you directly. The hospital is not involved in their billing process. For questions regarding the hospital portion of your billing, please call our Patient Accounts office at : 718.613.7100.

What is IMC Financial Assistance?

IMC has a Financial Assistance Program that provides discounts to qualifying individuals based on income. Do you need to present your insurance card when you are admitted to a hospital?

Many insurance companies now require that the patient call for pre-certification prior to hospital admission. Please do so, if necessary.
