Why women’s health specialists?

The philosophy of Women’s Health Specialists is to promote positive images of women and provide our clients with a new perspective of their bodies and health. We give women the tools to evaluate their authentic health care needs - images of women not based on a societal myth, but based on women’s reality and experience.

What is women’s health care?

We provide women with health information so they can become knowledgeable about their normal life stages. Our goal is to empower women through support, education, self-help and services so that they can make the best health care decisions for themselves. We have a vision: A world where women control their own bodies, reproduction and sexuality.

Does insurance cover birth control?

No-Cost Services. If you have insurance, it pays for your birth control, annual exams, STI testing and many more services in entirety. People aged 12+ can come for services, with or without a guardian.

Can I get STI testing free?

Safely and confidentially visit any of our clinics for sexual health care. Even if you are on your guardian or parents' insurance plan, you can sign up for Family PACT to get free and confidential care. Birth control, STI testing, pregnancy tests are free and private.

WHAT IS AN ABORTION FUND?

Women, transmen and gender non-conforming folks across the country may need an abortion, but can't afford the associated costs. To support these critical health services, abortion funds raise money from concerned citizens, and are able to offer costs to cover part or all of the expenses associated with an abortion.

ANNUAL BOWL-A-THON

Each year, we have a bowl-a-thon to raise money for the Women In Need Fund. This April, our annual Bowl-a-thons, in partnership with National Network of Abortion Funds, aim to raise thousands of dollars and increased support for our WHS Women in Need fund!

REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM WEEK

April 10th - 14th, 2017 was Reproductive Freedom Week, which happens annually statewide in California! We commemorated with an in-clinic fundraiser for our Women in Need fund, urging our clients to "Use Your Voice!" and give back to folks in the community who need access to our services the most!
