What are dermal fillers and how do they work?

Dermal fillers are used to restore volume to the face caused by aging, sun damage, weight loss, scarring, and repeated dynamic facial expressions. As aging occurs, collagen and fat deposits recede. Dermal fillers are used to stimulate new collagen production, lift the face, volumize lips, and smooth lines.

What should I expect during a dermal filler appointment?

Using a very fine needle, your filler will be injected just beneath the surface of your skin. Many fillers contain lidocaine can minimize discomfort. We also offer patients numbing cream in advance of their filler injections.
