Advance directives are documents you create to describe the extent of medical treatment you want to receive—or not to receive—should you become unconscious or too ill to communicate. Though the topic may be difficult to discuss, your wishes are important.

Medical Records

You can sign into MyChart, our online patient portal to see your records. Or you can request copies from the hospital's Health Information Department.

Improving patient care by focusing on key quality and safety indicators is integral to achieving Hackensack Meridian’s overall quality and safety objectives.

Service Animals

Hackensack Meridian Health is committed to providing individuals with disabilities full and equal access to services and treatment. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Hackensack Meridian Health welcomes the use of service animals by any person with a disability.

Visiting a Patient

Hackensack Meridian Health hospital visitation policies follow the recommendations from the New Jersey Hospital Association.

Parking and Valet

Payment: Parking is available to all visitors in the Essex St. Garage and Women and Children’s garage for a nominal fee (currently $8.00). If returning to the medical center for multiple visits through out the day, you can request a Same Day Return Voucher for an additional fee.

Parking and Directions

Patients and guests can enter the medical center campus from Route 33, following easy access from the Garden State Parkway or Routes 18, 34 and 35 (see detailed directions below). For most outpatient services, you should drive around the loop road to the other side of the hospital.

Where can I park?

We make parking as easy as possible. Our campus features valet parking as well as multiple garages for self-parking, including handicap parking.

How can I access my medical records?

You can sign into MyChart, our online patient portal. You can use the portal to view your records, request medication refills, access test results, manage your appointments and more.

Can I visit my loved one in the hospital during the pandemic?

We update our hospital visitation every Wednesday, based upon the risk of COVID-19 spread, the number of COVID-19 patients, hospital staffing and equipment levels.
