Mark R. Who is Dr. Pike?

Irving M. Pike. M.D. was named John Muir Health’s first Chief Medical Officer in April 2012. He serves as a key member of the system’s leadership team and provides medical and clinical leadership, expertise and perspective to the executive team, medical staff and clinical employees throughout the organization. Prior to joining John Muir Health, Dr. Pike spent twelve years as a physician executive with Sentara Healthcare a non-profit, integrated delivery system in Virginia. He spent a majority in the role of Vice President of Medical Affairs which included responsibilities for care management, patient safety, quality assurance and improvement, risk management, staff leadership development and education. Dr. Pike is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Pike entered practice in Virginia Beach, Virginia upon completion of his gastroenterology fellowship.

Who is Dr. Wintroub?

Dr. Wintroub has served UCSF for more than 32 years and has been chair of the Department of Dermatology since 1985. He was interim dean of the School of Medicine from September 2014 to June of 2015. In addition to his work for UCSF, he is chair of the Dermatology Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides research support for emerging teachers and researchers in dermatology. Dr. Wintroub received his MD from Washington University in St. Louis and completed residencies and fellowships at Harvard Medical School (immunology and dermatology) and Peter Bent Brigham Hospital (internal medicine). Prior to joining UCSF in 1982, he was a Harvard Medical School faculty member for six years.

Who is George Sauter?

George Sauter is the Chief Strategy Officer for John Muir Health. Mr. Sauter joined John Muir Health in February 2014. He is responsible for all strategic and business planning for JMH, and directs the health system’s marketing, e-business, telemedicine, and communications activities. Since joining John Muir Health, Mr. Sauter has led the development of a comprehensive strategic plan for the health system, supported JMH's decisions to affiliate with UCSF and be a founding member of the Bay Area ACO, directed the successful launches of the JMH patient portal, mobile "app", on-line scheduling, on-line treatment solutions, and has overseen a marketing campaign that has secured a market-leading brand position for John Muir Health. Prior to joining JMH, Mr. Sauter was a Senior Partner at the Chartis Group, a health care consulting firm based in Chicago. At Chartis, he led the group's work in the West Region for the past ten years and also co-led the firm's national Clinical Transformation Practice. Prior to Chartis, Mr. Sauter was a partner at CSC Healthcare / APM Management Consultants, one of the country's largest and most successful health care strategic advisory firms. Mr. Sauter received his undergraduate degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York and his MBA at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business
