Can you have a caregiver access to your dependent's health information?

YES, however, there are a few exceptions. Parents/guardians will have caregiver access to their dependent’s online health information from the ages of 0-11. By California State laws, Golden Valley Health Centers will expire caregiver access the day before the dependent’s 12 th birthday.

Can you print health information in Golden Valley?

When printing your health information, do not leave it unsupervised or in public areas. Golden Valley Health Centers is not responsible for what patients do with their own printed health information.

A patient 18 years of age or older will have the right to terminate any caregiver access anytime they please, unless otherwise stated by legal documentation. Before the minor’s 12 th birthday all parent (s)/guardian (s) and caregiver access will end absent a valid court order and/or proof from a specialist or physician stating extreme health incapacities or mental retardation.

Do patients have to notify the health center of demographic changes?

Patients must also note that changes to their demographic information on the patient portal are not directly reflected in the health center’s electronic health records system. Patients must notify the health center of any demographic changes as soon as these changes are made. Be concise when typing a message.

Is Golden Valley Health Center email secure?

It is important to note that email and text communication is not always secure. Email and text messages can be intercepted and for this reason, Golden Valley Health Center does not communicate personal health information through these methods.
