In accordance to CDC and OSHA guidelines, GRMC will continue to follow the masking mandate for anyone in a healthcare facility after July 1st, when the State of Emergency in Maryland is lifted. The authorization specialist performs Garrett Family Medicine, Cancer Center, Integrative Pain Clinic prior authorizations and will provide backup to the pulmonary clinic. The authorization specialist will do preauthorization/insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities.
The Social Worker plans, organizes, and implements social work services for patients and families. This includes counseling and seeking resources to meet the patient’s needs. Directs department staff, oversees scheduling, and evaluations. Manages and oversees the clinical social workers and crisis counselors. Is available for Crisis Intervention.
Accurately obtains all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record. Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital. Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately. Performs outpatient pre-authorizations/insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities.
The Environmental Services Associate cleans walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture in all assigned areas of the hospital to maintain as aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection, using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals.
The Advance Practice Professional (APP) is an individual with clinical skills and medical skills, with an expertise in the care of Hematology/Oncology (hem/onc) patients.
The crisis counselor provides assessment and evaluation for mental health patients in order to determine the appropriate plan for services.
The Certified Coding Specialist reviews and analyzes Inpatient and Outpatient records to determine correct code assignment and prepares and/or reports necessary data to regulatory agencies in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Maintains the Meditech abstracting system in accordance with GRMC protocol.
